Pink Ribbon Cake for Supper!

We have a fabulous cake for supper for our May meeting on Tuesday 6th! It is part of a fundraising effort for the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation.

Doreen Guest is running a series of breakfasts around the district this month to help raise funds for the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation. I went along to her first breakfast at the Warkworth Masonic Hall last Saturday morning. I bought a few things for breakfast, then bought three raffle tickets for a fabulous decorated strawberry sponge cake, in the shape of a teapot, which Doreen had made. To my surprise, later that day she sent me a text to say I had won the cake!

Its not very often I win things, probably because I rarely buy tickets! But this time I was lucky, and what better way to use my prize than to offer it for supper at our next Whangateau HarbourCare meeting. So come along and share this fabulous creation.

Doreen has several more breakfast sessions coming up, the next in Matakana on Saturday 10th May. Details of the events are copied below from Doreen’s programme:

I will host a Pink Ribbon Breakfast at different markets throughout Rodney. All the donations raised and the profit from the sale of my special designed cupcakes, cakepops etc. and a raffles (one decorated cake per market) will be donated to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. Confirmed dates and locations for my breakfasts in May are: on the 3rd @ Warkworth Market 8am till 1pm; 10th @ Matakana Family Market 9am till 2pm; 17th @ Albany Fresh Market 8am till 3pm; 18th @ Kaukapakapa Village Market 8am till 1pm; 25th @ Puhoi Farmers Market 9am till 1pm; 31st @ Silverdale Village Market 8am till 1pm. For the Puhoi and Albany Market I REQUIRE a GAZEBO and TRESSLE TABLE, which I don’t own myself. Is anyone able to HELP and provide them for the market hours? Please contact me on 021 02247636 if you can help.

I WILL DONATE ALL MY TIME AND SKILLS in May for this cause and I hope you can SUPPORT ME to get the BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME!
KEEP THE DONATIONS COMING and please COME TO MY BREAKFASTS!

Seven women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand. This year the money raised from my breakfast will be used to fund vital research projects and medical grants to help improve the survivorship of breast cancer in New Zealand.

Please consider making a donation today. I cannot do this alone but with your help we can make a difference.
My fundraising page is located at http://www.pinkribbonbreakfast.co.nz/page/doreenguestshostpage – come and donate now!

Thank you!
